Hey everyone, I got a MacBook Pro with an M1 chip from work last week, and while I set up a new iCloud email, I didn't fully complete the setup. I didn't add a trusted phone number or email, and it also didn't prompt me to create a password for the Mac—just Touch ID. Suddenly, it started asking for a password that I never set, and I panicked. I tried restoring it, but it requires the iCloud email, which I completely forgot. I've got no clue how I forgot everything! I called Apple Support, but they said I need a purchase ticket, which my boss doesn't have since he bought it himself. I'm feeling really desperate and am open to any solutions, even if it means paying for help!

This really sounds frustrating! It does make me wonder how it got set up without a password. If you can’t find a way through Apple, maybe check if there’s a way to reset it using recovery mode? Just a thought!
For real! Just make sure you don’t wipe it accidentally!
It sounds like you might need to reset your password, but without the iCloud email, that’s tricky. Normally, you have to create a password before setting up Touch ID, so I wonder if it did prompt you and you might have missed it. But really, if your boss can get in touch with Apple Support with proof of purchase, they might be able to help. It's definitely frustrating!
Yeah, I’d suggest your boss reach out to them directly, just to see if they can figure out an alternative proof.
Stay persistent with Apple Support! Sometimes they have more options than they initially let on.
Honestly, your best bet is definitely to have your boss contact Apple. They need to verify ownership, and without that invoice, it could be tough. When I had a similar issue, they were able to assist me after I provided some proof about my ownership in another way. Don’t lose hope yet!
I didn’t have the invoice either, and they still helped. Just explain the situation clearly!
Yeah, make sure your boss is super clear with them. Sometimes they can be flexible!

Recovery mode is worth a shot, but be careful! Make sure you know what you’re doing first.
