I messed up while trying to remove the "Managed by your organization" popup in my browsers. I followed a tutorial that led me to the registry editor, and I accidentally deleted a "Microsoft" folder from "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE". Now, my computer won't boot up properly, and whenever I try to restore it from the settings, it fails. I'm considering taking it to a professional tomorrow, but I'd love any advice in the meantime!

Honestly, the quickest fix might be to just reinstall Windows. Since you mentioned your computer isn’t managed by any organization, this could resolve the issue. If you’re not sure how to go about reinstalling, you can use installation media like a USB or DVD with Windows on it. Just boot from that and follow the prompts. This should help you get back on track!
I’d definitely need help with that, though. The screen just goes blue and restarts to the BIOS or whatever before I can even start reinstalling.
Oh no, that sounds frustrating! I hope you're able to get it sorted out. If all else fails, taking it to a shop could be your best option.
Have you tried booting into safe mode? This might allow you to at least access the system and recover your files or settings. Usually, you can do this by turning on your PC and repeatedly pressing F8 or holding the Shift key while you boot up. If you can get to safe mode, you might have better luck troubleshooting from there!
I’m not sure how to do that. It keeps going to a blue screen before I can get into anything.
Thanks for the tip! I’ll try to look into getting a bootable USB for Windows.
