I was trying to expand my storage after initially installing Linux alongside Windows, but I accidentally formatted the partition where Linux was installed. Now, when I try to reinstall Mint, I get a message saying 'no other operating system detected on this device.' The only options I have are to either format the device and install Linux or choose 'something else.' Also, my laptop doesn't boot into Windows automatically anymore; instead, it brings up a terminal with the word 'grub' on it, and I have to manually select Windows from the boot menu every time. How can I resolve this?

Sounds like you're running into some bootloader confusion! When you formatted the Mint partition, the Grub bootloader that previously managed the dual boot setup was likely left hanging. You could try booting from a Linux live USB and using some commands to check your disk layout to see what’s happening. One common solution is to reinstall Grub after installing Mint again, so it can recognize both systems properly.

If you’re still aiming to dual boot, make sure you choose the right installation options. Sometimes, if you just go for the full installation without checking partitions, you could lose access to Windows.
