Help! I Think My Entire Computer Has Been Hacked

I just realized that my accounts on Steam, Epic Games, and EA have been hacked—my emails and passwords were changed. I also noticed my Gmail was accessed, but thankfully nothing was altered there. However, I woke up to find my Instagram logged in as well, again with no changes made. I'm trying to understand what's happening. Is it possible for someone to have remote access to my computer even when it's turned off?

It sounds like your account tokens might have been stolen. Try logging back in to your accounts and see if you can terminate other active sessions. It’s super important to secure your accounts as quickly as you can.

There was a massive data breach recently, exposing millions of usernames and passwords. Your data could have been collected via spyware or keyloggers, and attackers don’t need your PC to be on to access those details.

Use a different device (like a phone or another computer) to change your passwords and set up two-factor authentication on your accounts. Start with securing your email and mobile accounts first. If you really want to be safe, consider wiping your PC completely and reinstalling the operating system from a clean USB created on a trustworthy machine.

I ran a check on my PC, and it said everything was fine. I deleted anything suspicious I could find and changed all the passwords I remembered. Is it possible that there’s still something lurking?

If you did a thorough check and found nothing, just be vigilant. Sometimes threats can be hidden or very subtle. Keep an eye on your accounts and consider monitoring your network activity.
