Help! I was charged $99.99 instead of $1.99 for an in-app purchase – what’s the chance of getting a refund?

I recently tried to buy an in-app item for $1.99, but to my surprise, I was charged $99.99 instead. I immediately requested a refund, but I'm curious about how likely I am to actually get it. Any insights on the refund process would be really helpful!

There's really no set percentage on getting a refund. The first request doesn't even go to a live person, so it's pretty much a bit of a waiting game.

Just to clarify, when you request a refund, Apple advisers can only push that request forward. They don’t have the power to approve refunds themselves. It’ll go to a different team that decides whether to approve or deny it. If it's denied, the decision is final, although you can dispute it. Just a heads up, if you go for a chargeback with your bank, the payment method linked to your Apple account might get banned.

Thanks for clarifying! I appreciate the info.

Honestly, there's no way to predict it. You might get approved, or you might not. It's a bit of a gamble.

That really stinks! It seems like false advertising to me! Make sure you stay on top of this, it feels like it should be illegal.
