I recently updated the drivers for my 5070 graphics card, which I hadn't touched since I got it, and now I'm facing severe FPS drops while gaming. I have a Ryzen 7 9800X3D, and everything was running smoothly before the update. Can anyone help me figure out what might be causing this issue or what the original factory drivers were?

Not a stupid combo at all! For high refresh rate gaming, this setup works fine. Just be sure to clean install the drivers and pick the version that worked best for you before the update.
Honestly, pairing a 9800X3D with a 5070 isn't the worst combo out there, especially if you're into 1440p gaming. What version of the driver are you currently using? You might want to roll back to a previous version like 572.70 and see if that fixes the FPS drops.
Sorry to hear you're having trouble! Nvidia has been known to have some driver hiccups lately. I hope you find a solution soon.
