Hey everyone, I've been tinkering with my PC for a while, but I'm still learning the ropes. Recently, I decided to upgrade my GPU from an MSI GeForce RTX 2070 Super to a Gigabyte GeForce RTX 4070 Super, and I also swapped out my PSU from an EVGA 650GQ 80+ to an EVGA 1000GT 80+. I've done some upgrades before, including my CPU, motherboard, RAM, and adding an M.2 SSD, but everything worked like a charm before this.
After replacing the GPU and installing the new PSU—using the cables that came with it—I booted up my PC only to find myself stuck in the BIOS. While my BIOS recognizes the new GPU and the M.2 SSD, it doesn't see my SATA SSD, which holds my operating system! The motherboard's display shows a code "Ab," and after trying various suggestions from the internet, including changing SATA connections and testing with my old GPU, I'm still at a loss.
The SATA controller is enabled, and the SATA cable has been reliable in the past, but I might grab a new one anyway. My main worry isn't just the boot issue; it's the important data on my SATA drive—years of memories, photos, and documents that I cannot risk losing! If anyone has ideas on how I can get this working or salvage my data, I'd really appreciate it!

I did switch ports on both the motherboard and PSU, but unfortunately, it hasn't resolved the issue. It's really frustrating since I just want to access my data!
Have you tried plugging your SSD into a different PSU connection? Sometimes a connection can fail. Also, make sure your SATA mode in BIOS is set to AHCI; that’s usually the best setting for SATA drives. If the problem persists, a BIOS update might help, but I'm leaning towards a power issue somewhere with your setup. Once you get this sorted, consider backing up your important files to an external drive so you don’t have to worry next time!
