Help! Locked Out of Microsoft Tenant After License Issues

I've been dealing with a major issue involving a client who lost access to their Microsoft tenant following an unexpected expiration of their nonprofit licenses. After purchasing new licenses directly from Microsoft, everything seemed fine for a day or two until suddenly no one—including global admins—could log into any Microsoft services. We keep encountering a login loop, and when we try to access the tenant through the partner portal, we get a Conditional Access block. Now, Entra shows the error AADSTS5000224, indicating our tenant has been deauthenticated. We've been stuck on the phone with Microsoft support, bouncing from one department to another without a solid answer or resolution. Has anyone experienced something similar or have any advice on how to regain access?

Check if anyone in your organization has personal contacts at Microsoft. We had to leverage some of our connections when we were completely locked out, and that was the only way to get any movement on our issue. It was a nightmare but worth it in the end.

It sounds like this situation is less about licensing and more about a potential security issue. I think something might have happened where Microsoft detected a threat or compromise and locked everything down to prevent further issues. It's really tough dealing with Microsoft support; they usually deal with problems in a very roundabout way, so it might take a while to get the right help.

That's my theory too, but getting a straight answer from Microsoft is next to impossible. They keep passing me around without any real follow-up.

Ugh, that sounds frustrating! Microsoft support can be pretty hit or miss. Just curious, do you work with Microsoft directly, or through a Value-Added Reseller (VAR)? If it’s the latter, sometimes they have better access or contacts to escalate issues, which could help you out.

We use a CSP for our licenses, but even they are locked out and not much help at this point.

I went through something similar, where an internal process at Microsoft flagged our tenant, and we couldn’t access anything for a while. After a week, it was automatically restored, which was super frustrating considering we were just left in the dark. If you hit another wall like this, maybe consider involving a legal team to push for a resolution. It can be harsh, but it might get you some attention.
