I recently faced a huge drop in performance on my PC right after booting up. The system feels very sluggish; it takes over two seconds to switch between large Discord servers, and games like Arma Reforger and Arma 3 have seen a drop of more than 90% in average FPS.
I've attempted several fixes, including completely reinstalling Windows and trying out Linux Mint, reseating all hardware, testing the RAM in various configurations, and resetting BIOS settings with EXPO turned off. Despite these efforts, the performance issues persist across both operating systems.
When I play Arma, adjusting the graphics settings barely affects the FPS—Arma Reforger is stuck around 25 FPS, down from over 150 FPS I used to get. Even setting the graphics to maximum doesn't help much, dropping FPS to about 20, and the GPU never fully reaches 100% usage. Temperatures remain safe for all components. Some games, like Minecraft and War Thunder, run almost normally, but even Roblox only hits 30-50 FPS, which is disappointing.
I've performed checks on storage drives, ran MemTest for RAM, and completed PCIe lane and voltage checks, all with normal results. Right now, I suspect there might be a bottleneck or communication issue between the CPU and RAM, or something affecting the motherboard's pathways or CPU performance under load.
I'm looking for any ideas about what could be causing these issues, along with recommendations for further diagnostics, especially ones compatible with Linux.

Have you checked if your water pump is running properly? If it's not, overheating could happen even if the temperatures seem fine. I'm curious about that water cooling setup too; sometimes, pumps fail but don’t always show immediate signs.

Yeah, sounds like GPU throttling might be an issue! If the pump is working but still getting high temps, it could be worth examining the cooling performance more closely.
