Help Me Choose the Right GPU for My First PC Build

I'm building my first PC and I've just about got everything set up. You can check out my parts list [here](https://pcpartpicker.com/list/X8dwxg). I think I'm doing alright, but now I'm at the stage where I need to choose a graphics card. I'm leaning towards NVIDIA but I'm torn between the 4070 and 5070. I want something in the upper mid-range that won't break the bank—ideally under $500. Any advice on which GPU to go for and why?

I totally get wanting something efficient! I switched from a powerful but noisy GPU, and I found that the 4070ti kept my build a lot quieter without sacrificing too much performance. It's definitely a balancing act!

It's cool that you're making the switch from console to PC! Just a heads up, when it comes to NVIDIA vs. AMD, it's worth thinking about why you might prefer one over the other, since brand loyalty can be pretty arbitrary. Just do your research on what fits your gaming needs best!

Yeah, I agree. For your budget, you might not even notice the differences between brands, so don't stress over it too much.

Your choice of power supply is a bit outdated for what you're building. If you're going with an NVIDIA card, it’s better to go with something ATX3/PCIe5 compliant. I suggest looking at the Ryzen 7600X instead of the 9600X for better value. Also, the RAM price you picked is a bit high; there are cheaper options that perform just as well. You might want to look at the 5070, but make sure it's the right model because the power consumption varies! Here’s a part list I created that should fit your needs better: [PCPartPicker List](https://pcpartpicker.com/list/tCXpXR)

So it sounds like I should switch up my power supply and CPU based on your recommendations, right? And what are you suggesting about the RAM being ridiculous?

Exactly, the 7600X is cost-effective. The high RAM price just isn't worth it, you can find similar performance at a lower price.
