I'm tired of Windows and looking to switch to a Linux distro for gaming on my laptop. Here are my specs: AMD Ryzen 7 4800H with Radeon graphics at 2.90 GHz, 16 GB RAM, and an Nvidia GeForce RTX 3050 Ti laptop GPU. I want something that uses KDE Plasma and is easy to install. I've come across Bazzite, Linux Mint, Nobara, and KDE Neon. Any suggestions? Thank you!

You should definitely consider either Nobara or Linux Mint from your list. Bazzite is primarily designed for handhelds like the Steam Deck, and while it works on laptops, it's not optimized for a desktop experience. Mint is more versatile with plenty of pre-installed software, making it suitable for general use. Nobara is great for gaming, as it sets you up nicely right out of the box.

CachyOS could be another good pick for you. It offers great gaming performance, features KDE Plasma, an easy GUI installer, and is well-engineered.

If you're just getting started, Linux Mint is a friendly choice, but it uses its own Cinnamon desktop, not KDE Plasma. If KDE is a must for you, I'd recommend looking into openSUSE or Fedora KDE. They're both very user-friendly and provide solid gaming support.

Don't forget about the option to try out other distros as well. Ubuntu, Zorin, and vanilla Debian are also good choices. Nobara and Bazzite cater well to gamers, but don’t hesitate to learn how to install and configure gaming tools like Steam and Proton for even better performance.

Bazzite is solid for gaming, but if you're wanting something that feels more like a traditional desktop, it’s adjustable. Plus, setting up a distro isn’t limiting; you can try multiple ones until you find what suits you best.
