Help Me Review My PC Build Before I Buy

I'm looking for some feedback on my PC build before I commit to buying it during Black Friday sales. I know preferences can vary a lot, but I want to spot any major issues that might need fixing. Here's my current build:

- AMD Ryzen 7 5800X
- Noctua NH-D15S Chromax CPU cooler (I think I might not need it, but I like the way it looks)
- Gigabyte B550 AORUS ELITE AX V2 motherboard (I'm a bit unsure about this choice and open to better alternatives)
- Corsair Vengeance LPX 32 GB (2x16) RAM
- Samsung 970 Evo Plus 250 GB (used as my boot drive, PCIe 3.0)
- Samsung 990 Pro with Heatsink 2TB (for gaming storage, PCIe 4.0)
- I'll reuse my old ADATA SSD for general storage
- NVIDIA Founders Edition GeForce RTX 5070 12 GB (I've seen some concerns about the 12 GB, but I've been fine with my 1660ti for years, though I'm open to suggestions)
- SeaSonic Focus GX V4 ATX 3 850W power supply

I appreciate any advice, thanks!

For a $2,000 setup, sticking with the older AM4 platform is a bit surprising. You might find it tough to run games at 4K with the RTX 5070. I’d suggest checking out a 1440p monitor instead, which pairs better with high-performance components.

Here’s a build suggestion that might save you some cash for the same performance:
- AMD Ryzen 5 9600X
- Thermalright Peerless Assassin 120 SE CPU cooler (much cheaper and performs great)
- MSI B850 GAMING PLUS WIFI motherboard (solid choice for AM5)
- 32 GB DDR5-6000 RAM
- 2 TB WD_BLACK SN7100 SSD instead of the 970 EVO (better price/performance)
- ASRock Challenger Radeon RX 9070 XT 16 GB GPU

Overall, this setup totals about $1922.22, which saves you money while offering similar or better performance!

Hey, thanks for the insights! Just to clarify, my previous setup was pretty outdated, so my knowledge is a bit limited. I figured I'd go for 4K since I prioritize resolution over frame rates, but I'm open to switching to 1440p if it makes sense.

On storage, I thought the Samsung drives were reliable, so why did you choose the 990 EVO Plus over my original? And about the PSU, is the MSI one just more affordable? I like learning about these things!
