Help Me Review My PC Parts List!

I'm a total newbie when it comes to building PCs and I need some advice before I make any purchases. Right now, I'm using a 2021 HP Omen with a GTX 1660 Super and an i5-10400 CPU, which has been great, but I really want to boost my performance. I'm aiming to play Destiny 2 at higher settings and get at least 120 frames per second.

Another thing is I'm looking for a more compact setup than what I have now. That's why I chose a Micro ATX motherboard and case—just checking to see if that's the right choice.

I also do a lot of music mixing and mastering with FL Studio, but I often hit performance limits that force me to raise the buffer size, which makes it tough to record. I'm hoping to tackle that with my new build.

Here's my parts list on PC Part Picker: [https://pcpartpicker.com/list/4srrgn](https://pcpartpicker.com/list/4srrgn). Please let me know if everything looks good or if there are any changes I should consider! Thanks a bunch!

Just a heads up about the P3 Plus drive you’re considering—it uses QLC flash, which isn't very durable, and it can slow down significantly over time. I'd suggest getting a better drive with TLC flash like the Kioxia Exceria Plus G3 or WD Blue SN580. They have better performance and longevity!

Instead of your current setup, check out this parts list I made: [https://pcpartpicker.com/list/hq7XQd]. It's a better starting point because it balances performance and budget well. Just let me know why you're curious about my choices!

Thanks! Could I ask the reasoning though?

You're aiming for mid-2025, right? If so, I recommend going with AM5 and DDR5 RAM instead of sticking with 8GB on the GPU. If you want to keep the cost around $1,000, the other list is solid. For your CPU, finding a deal on a 9600X gives you more efficiency. Definitely opt for a Micro ATX motherboard and case as planned! Also, consider 2TB storage unless you can reuse an old drive. Good luck!
