Help! My Acer BIOS won’t let me boot into GRUB for Nobara OS

I'm having a tough time getting my PC to boot into GRUB because of my Acer BIOS. I recently partitioned my SSD to install Nobara OS using Ventoy on my USB, but when I booted my PC, it only went straight into Windows and I couldn't find Nobara in the boot selection menu. I followed a guide to modify the boot manager with the command `bcdedit /set "{bootmgr}" R:EFIfedoragrubx64.efi`, but now I'm met with a 'no bootable device' error. The only way to access Windows or Nobara is by using the Ventoy menu on my USB. I'm running Linux Mint on another laptop without issues, which frustrates me even more! Also, I've disabled secure boot on my PC.

Totally get your frustration! Just a heads up, disabling secure boot is usually a good step when installing Linux. If your BIOS is causing all sorts of issues, maybe look into updating it, if possible. Sometimes, manufacturers release updates to fix boot issues with Linux.

Hey! Check your BIOS settings for the boot order. The first boot option should be your GRUB installation. Boot into BIOS, head to the "Boot" tab, and look for something like "UEFI Hard Disk Drive BBS Priorities". Make sure 'ubuntu' is at the top of that list. Save your settings and reboot—that should help you get back to the GRUB loader!
