Help! My Acer Laptop Can’t Find Wireless Drivers – Any Solutions?

I have an older Acer Aspire E5-573G that I rely on for my studies. Recently, the wireless connection started acting up, and now the network adapters are showing generic names like 'WAN Ikev2' and 'WAN IP' instead of the usual Qualcomm or Intel names. I tried downloading the drivers from Acer's official site, but they appear to have been removed, and when I enter my serial number and SNID, I get a 'Not valid' message. I'm stuck and need assistance. I found the driver on a site called Driverscape, but I'm hesitant to use it due to concerns about viruses or keyloggers. I've scanned the file with VirusScan, and it came back clean. Can anyone suggest a safe way to obtain official drivers for this laptop, or offer an alternative solution? By the way, I'm using Windows 11.

I’d suggest checking the site you found; it’s usually reliable. But if you're not comfortable, try looking for the drivers directly from Qualcomm or Intel's websites. They might have what you need.

The chip in my laptop is the Qualcomm Atheros QCA9377. I've looked, but unfortunately, Qualcomm doesn’t provide direct downloads for it. And about Intel, shouldn't there be an Intel chip? It's confusing!

Consider using the Internet WayBack Machine to find old driver files from the manufacturer’s site. I've had success with that before when I couldn't find drivers due to website issues. Check it out at web.archive.org.

Thanks for that! I tried the WayBack Machine, but no luck this time. I ended up downloading from Driverscape, and they seemed fine at first, but now my laptop isn’t even recognizing the network card. What a mess!
