Help! My ASUS ROG STRIX X870 won’t power on at all

I'm in the process of building a new PC inside the Cooler Master NR200P Max V2, and I'm using an ASUS ROG STRIX X870-I Gaming WIFI motherboard. However, I'm facing a major issue — when I hit the power button, nothing happens. No lights illuminate, no fans spin; it's like the motherboard is completely lifeless.

Here's a quick rundown of the hardware I'm working with:
- **Motherboard:** ASUS ROG STRIX X870-I Gaming WIFI
- **Case/PSU:** Cooler Master NR200P Max V2, which comes with an 850W SFX PSU
- **CPU:** AMD Ryzen 9 9950X3D
- **RAM:** 32GB Acer Predator Pallas II
- **GPU:** Sapphire Nitro+ AMD Radeon RX 9070 XT

What I've done so far:
1. I ran a PSU test using the paper clip method on the 24-pin connector, and the PSU fan does spin up, confirming it's working.
2. I carefully checked the connections on the PSU side — both the 10-pin and 18-pin connectors are securely in place, and the 24-pin on the motherboard is firmly seated.
3. I installed the 'ROG FPS Card' and connected the case's power switch to the 'PWR_BTN' pins on it.
4. I verified that the PSU switch is set to the 'On' position.

I have a few questions:
- Should there be any standby LEDs on this motherboard that light up before I power it on? Mine doesn't show any signs of life.
- Could the 'ROG FPS Card' be faulty or improperly connected?
- Is there anything unique about the X870-I that I might have overlooked?

I'm really in a bind here, and I would greatly appreciate any guidance!

Hey! First off, check if you might have reversed the PWR_BTN connection on the motherboard. It’s a common mistake to get the polarity messed up, which could explain why it’s not turning on. If that doesn't help, try removing the FPS Card and connect the power button directly to the 'POWER_BTN' header on the motherboard instead. You can install the card again later once we confirm the board is working. If it's still not responding after that, let me know and we can troubleshoot further!

I had a similar issue recently! If you're using the FPS Card, ensure that the power button connector is plugged into it correctly. The connector comes in a 9-pin, so you shouldn't be able to reverse it. If it doesn't work after double-checking everything, try connecting your case’s power button directly to the motherboard. Good luck and keep us posted!
