I recently bought a used ASUS RTX 3070 TUF, replacing my 2070 Super. After using DDU to uninstall old drivers, I reinstalled the latest ones via the NVIDIA app. My first gaming session ended abruptly with a black screen and 'no input' message after just two minutes in Battlefield 6, forcing me to perform a hard shutdown. After rebooting, I sent a crash report through the NVIDIA app and checked for errors. I monitored temperatures using HWInfo, ran FurMark, and even undervolted the card based on instructions I found online. Initially, I played for about half an hour without issues, but after cooling down, another FurMark test resulted in another black screen and crash report. My temperatures seem alarmingly high, reaching up to 109°C with the fan spinning over 3000 RPM. I'm wondering if I need to reapply thermal paste and if my case might be causing the overheating, as I have a be quiet! Pure Base 500 with sound dampening foam. Is the fan speed and temperature normal?

It sounds like reapplying thermal paste could really help. The factory paste might have dried up, causing poor heat transfer. If you're comfortable with it, give it a shot yourself or consider getting it done at a shop if you're unsure.

I can handle the thermal paste part; I have some ARCTIC MX 4 on hand, which should work perfectly, right?
