I've been experiencing BSODs, corrupted game installs, and issues with zip extractions even after reinstalling Windows and ensuring my drivers and BIOS are up to date. My setup includes a Ryzen 5 5500, an RTX 2060 6GB, and 32GB of DDR4-3200 RAM, all powered by a 550W PSU. When I run the OCCT CPU stability test, it shows hundreds of thousands of errors per second on physical core #4 (logical cores 8 and 9). Is there anything I can check to troubleshoot this before concluding that the CPU is faulty?

First things first, make sure to gather those dump files from any BSODs you've had. If you can access Windows, try to find them in C:WindowsMinidump. Upload them to a file sharing site so others can analyze them for you. They really help in diagnosing the issue!
You might want to test your RAM using MemTest86 or MemTest86+. It's a solid way to rule out memory issues which could cause those errors you're experiencing. Also, consider running a Prime95 torture test to stress the CPU and check for any stability problems.
It sounds like your stuff might be having some hardware instability issues rather than just Windows or drivers. Here's a checklist to help you out: 1) Reset BIOS to defaults and disable XMP; 2) Run MemTest86 for at least one full pass; 3) Test with OCCT’s Memory test; 4) Check WHEA-Logger in Event Viewer for any hardware errors; 5) Analyze your storage drives with CrystalDiskInfo; and 6) Assess the PSU's strength using OCCT Power test. If errors persist, your CPU or motherboard might be the culprit, so you may want to consider an RMA.
I already turned off XMP and ran MemTest86+ for over 20 hours, getting 14 passes without any errors. I also checked the drive I reinstalled Windows on, and it’s brand new and rated 100% on DiskInfo. I might just look for a used 5800X to swap in. Appreciate the detailed help!
