Hey everyone, I'm in a bit of a bind. My desktop just suddenly won't turn on. I came home today, pressed the power button, and nothing happened. No beeps, no lights, no fans – just complete silence. I built this PC back in 2019, and it's been running fine until now, so I'm really confused about what's going on.
Here's what I've tried so far: turning it off and on, holding the power button for 30 seconds, plugging directly into a wall outlet, unplugging all peripherals, reseating the 24 pin connector, replacing the CMOS battery, taking out the GPU, and reseating the RAM.
Before this happened, there were no signs that anything was wrong. Also, there haven't been any lightning storms or anything that could've affected it recently.
Here are my specs for reference:
- CPU: Ryzen 5 3600
- Motherboard: ASRock b450 pro4
- GPU: 1050ti
- PSU: Corsair VS550

Sounds like you might have had a power outage that messed with either the PSU or motherboard. To check the power supply, the paperclip test works wonders. If that shows it's good, then try shorting the power button pins with a screwdriver. If still nothing, the motherboard might be toast.
Thanks for your help! But believe it or not, when I was unplugging my peripherals, the PC turned on again. I’ll keep the paperclip test in mind for next time!
