Help! My Ethernet Won’t Connect to My PC

Hey everyone! I'm dealing with a frustrating problem with my Ethernet connection. After a game I was playing froze up and forced me to hard reset my PC, my Ethernet cable no longer connects to it. I've reset my internet and even tried a factory reset, but nothing seems to work.

Interestingly, the Ethernet cable works perfectly fine when I connect it to my TV. The green light on the router indicates that it's functioning when plugged into the TV, but it doesn't light up when I connect it to my PC.

I've attempted various reset commands and even uninstalled and reinstalled the drivers, but still no luck. The Ethernet icon in the bottom right is lit in grey with the cable blinking. I'm really lost on what to do next. Has anyone experienced this issue, or does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks for any help!

Have you checked whether your PC is set to automatically receive an IP address? If it's not, you might want to adjust that. It could also help to go into your router settings and check the port speeds to make sure everything's set correctly. Let me know what you find!

I have it set to automatically receive an IP. How do I check if the port speeds are set right?

What happens if you try a different network cable with your PC? It might be worth trying that out. Additionally, you could run 'sfc /scannow' in the command prompt as an admin. Sometimes it repairs corrupted files affecting connections.

I tried a new cable, but nothing happens. Running 'sfc /scannow' just told me that 'Windows Resource Protection did not find any integrity violations'.
