I'm in the process of building a budget PC and I'm considering two CPUs: the Intel i5 12400F and the AMD Ryzen 5 5600. They are similarly priced in my area, but I'm unsure which one would pair better with my RTX 3060 Ti. If I go with the i5, I'd likely use an H610 motherboard and 32GB of DDR4 RAM. If I choose the Ryzen 5, I'd probably opt for a budget B450 motherboard with the same 32GB of DDR4 RAM. Can anyone share their experiences or advice on which combo might deliver better performance?

I'm looking to keep it budget-friendly, but I've noticed that the Ryzen 5 5600X has shown some impressive performance as well. I guess pricing can play a big factor too!
I’ve been using the 12400 with a 3060 Ti since 2022, and it’s been fantastic! Just out of curiosity, what motherboard are you using with it?
I'd personally go for the 12400F. If you can, try to find a B660 motherboard instead of the H610, as it offers better features and I/O options. The Ryzen 5 isn't bad, but I think the 12400F generally has better overall performance with a GPU like yours.

It's definitely worth considering base prices. Sometimes you can get an Intel chip cheaper. Just keep in mind the future upgrades, as newer models are starting to go DDR5.
