Help! My Friend Lost Chats After I Reactivated My Instagram Accounts

Hey everyone! I deactivated both my main Instagram account and a secondary one yesterday. After I did that, my friend realized their chats were completely missing, even though they hadn't deleted anything. I panicked, reactivated both accounts, and found that my chats were back as expected, but my friend's account still shows empty chats after six hours. I checked with ChatGPT, and it mentioned that this can happen, especially if the chats are large, and that it sometimes takes time for everything to sync up again. I want to know if anyone else has faced this issue or can suggest what I should do next. We've both reported it to Instagram multiple times, but it's quite frustrating and feels like they deleted the chats. Any advice would be appreciated!

I’ve had a similar issue before. Reactivating accounts can sometimes cause temporary glitches in chat visibility for other users. It might take some time for everything to sync properly. Hang tight, and check back in a few hours. If it doesn’t resolve, consider reaching out to Instagram’s support again just to keep the pressure on. Also, your friend should try logging out and back in to see if that triggers any updates.

Yeah, I had to log out and back in when I faced a glitch, and it worked for me! So definitely try that.

As frustrating as it is, Instagram has a lot of users and sometimes things just take longer to fix. It's good that you both reported it. Make sure your friend also checks their message requests just in case something is there. And keep an eye on the app updates, sometimes bugs get fixed with new versions.

True! I hope it gets resolved soon. Instagram can be super slow with issues like this.
