Hey everyone, I'm having a pretty frustrating issue with my GMMK Pro keyboard. Earlier today, my system froze and I had to power it off. When I turned it back on, the keyboard wouldn't power up at all. I can't even use it in preboot to access the BIOS. However, it works perfectly on my laptop, and my old Corsair keyboard functions just fine on my desktop. I've already tried a ton of troubleshooting steps:
- Checking every USB and USB-C port
- Using 3 different cables
- Uninstalling and reinstalling Glorious Core
- Reinstalling USB and keyboard drivers
- Updating the USB chipset
- Resetting BIOS to default
- Trying a USB hub
- Factory resetting the GMMK Pro
- Booting in Safe Mode
- Creating a new user profile
- Running sfc /scannow
- Using Glorious QMK Toolbox for a firmware reset
- Performing a Windows restore after an update
My motherboard is an ASUS TUF X670-E Plus Wi-Fi. I did email support, but I thought someone here might have some insight as well. Let me know if you need any more info; I'm ready to troubleshoot!

You might want to try booting from a LiveOS Linux distribution. Just download an ISO, burn it to a USB stick, and boot from it. If the keyboard works in Linux, that could point to a software issue on your Windows install. Good luck! Let me know how it goes!
Have you checked the Device Manager? Go to 'View' and select 'Show hidden devices.' Delete any hidden HID devices, especially the one for your keyboard, and then restart. If that doesn't help, you may need to use pnputil to delete the driver specifically for your keyboard. Give that a shot!
I didn’t see anything hidden that I already hadn’t reinstalled. I’ll try using pnputil later tonight and let you know if that works!
Sounds like a classic case of Rule 4 to me!
I initially thought it might be Rule 8, but based on what you described, I gotta agree with Rule 4 on this one.
Haha, why is that even a rule?

I booted into Tails, but unfortunately, the keyboard still didn’t work.
