I woke up this morning to find that my Google account has been deactivated. The notification said, "This account became unavailable on Jan 2, 2026. Starting on Nov 28, 2026, this account will be considered for deletion." I've had this account for 16 years, and all my photos, including family memories, are stored there. I even have a Google One subscription. I'm really frustrated because the support options seem pointless and I can't reach a customer service representative since I can't log in. I've already submitted an appeal, but I'm really anxious about losing all my pictures. What should I do?

You should definitely file an appeal if you believe your account was deactivated by mistake. It’s the first step they recommend! Since you’ve already done that, just keep an eye on your email for a response from Google. They might need additional info from you to reactivate your account.
Have you considered that it might be a phishing attempt? Double-check any messages you received regarding this. If you're sure it’s not phishing, then you're on the right track with the appeal. Just remember to stay vigilant about your account security in the future!
I'm positive it isn’t phishing. I didn’t enter any login info anywhere; I'm just locked out now.

Yeah, I’ve already filed the appeal, just waiting to hear back. Thanks for the reminder!
