Help! My GPU Isn’t Being Recognized After a Fall

I accidentally dropped my computer off my desk, and after shutting it down, I found that my GPU wasn't seated properly. I reseated it and now have two monitors connected—one to my motherboard and one to the GPU. Both monitors display 1080p fine, but my GPU isn't showing up in the display settings; only the integrated graphics are recognized. The GPU looks undamaged, and I'm really unsure how to get it working again. Any ideas on how to fix this?

By the way, next time, try to make your post titles more descriptive! It helps get more relevant responses. But what you did sounds like a solid approach. Make sure after reseating the GPU, check Device Manager for it instead of the display settings; sometimes Windows might disable it.

First things first, check the power cable from your power supply to the GPU. Is there any indication that the GPU is alive, like fans spinning or lights turning on? Also, make sure to inspect the PCI-e connection on the motherboard for any bends or cracks. This could be a simple fix!

The GPU does show signs of life—fans are running, and the PCI-e connection looks solid.

If all else fails, it might be worth reinstalling the GPU drivers. Sometimes a fresh install can do wonders. And if it still doesn't show up, taking it to a computer shop could be a good backup option before you consider replacing it.
