Help! My GPU Won’t Fit Because of My CPU Cooler

I'm building my first PC and I've run into a bit of a snag. My RTX 5070 Ti won't fit into my MSI B850M Mortar WiFi motherboard because my Phantom Spirit 120 SE cooler is in the way. Did I pick parts that are incompatible, or is this a common issue when using mATX boards with larger air coolers? What are some potential solutions?

It sounds like your cooler's orientation might be the problem. Since it's asymmetric, try rotating it 180 degrees to see if that clears the way for your GPU!

If rotating the cooler doesn't work, consider switching to a cooler that won't block the PCIe slot. Alternatively, a smaller GPU or a motherboard with better clearance could also solve the issue.

Thanks for the tips! I'm definitely considering a different cooler if this doesn't work out.

My setup is similar, and I've managed to fit the same GPU in the first PCIe slot with that cooler, so it’s puzzling why yours doesn't fit. Are you sure everything is properly aligned?

Yeah, I’m checking all the alignments. It’s frustrating!

You might want to double-check the cooler's installation. It should sit above the RAM but leave enough space for the PCIe slots. A picture of your build would help the community give you more specific advice.
