I'm having some trouble with my HP desktop. It boots up and runs fine after I pull out one of the RAM sticks and remove the CMOS battery for a few minutes. The problem is it randomly freezes, and the only way I can restart it is by holding the power button. When I turn it back on, it beeps four times and has a red light for each beep. I'm not very experienced with troubleshooting PC errors, but I've already replaced the CMOS, reseated the RAM, swapped the SATA cables, and installed a new HDD. Sadly, I'm still facing the same issue where it won't boot unless I do those steps first.

Given the age of your desktop, it might be a good idea to check if the power supply is failing. Older units can struggle, especially if you’ve recently replaced components; they might not handle the load well anymore.
Could you share the hardware specs of your system? The four beeps with a red light usually indicate a power supply issue, so that might be the root of your problems.
Yeah, that definitely sounds like a hardware issue. Have you checked all your connections? Sometimes loose cables can cause these intermittent problems. It might also help to run some diagnostics on your RAM or even test with a different power supply if possible.
