I recently had a sudden power cut, and now my internal 1TB HDD isn't showing up or working at all. Here's what I've managed to find out so far:
- In Windows Disk Management, it shows up as Disk 0 – Unknown – Not Initialized and prompts me to initialize it with MBR or GPT.
- The disk size isn't visible in Disk Management at all.
- When I use CMD and type "diskpart - list disk," it shows Disk 0 as Online but with a size of 0 B and Free 0 B.
- The HDD is listed in Device Manager.
I'm not worried about losing data since I have a full backup already. So, the big question is: Is my disk completely dead, or does it just need some adjustments?

It might be dead, but first, try disconnecting and reconnecting it. Sometimes, a loose connection can cause issues after a power cut.
It’s likely not dead. The MBR might be erased, so it'll be unaddressed for now. You can try formatting it and maybe reclone the drive from the backup. Also, if it's still using MBR, consider converting to GPT since MBR has its limitations.
If I format it and everything works out, will it be as reliable as it was before?

I haven't physically disconnected it yet because my setup makes it a hassle. It's a little cramped and dark where my PC is.
