I recently changed my internet settings to use a static IP, and now basically everything has stopped working—my fire sticks, my landlord's PC, and my roommate's smart devices are all acting up. The only device that seems to be mostly okay is my own PC. I switched back to dynamic, but some things still aren't functioning right. I've figured out how to get most of the fire sticks working, but there's still one that won't budge. My landlord's PC (which is connected via Ethernet) can't access certain websites, although Google seems to be fine. I could really use some help to fix this mess; my landlord is not happy about it!

Can you clarify what exactly you changed to a static IP? Is it your router's external IP or something else?
It's possible that could have caused the issues. It's usually best to follow the guide closely and not change too many settings without understanding them.
We all make mistakes! Just a heads up: sometimes guides can leave out details that are critical. You might want to share the guide you followed. It could help the rest of us understand what went wrong and assist you better!
Here’s the link I'm following. It's supposed to set up a Minecraft server but maybe it has a flaw.
Thanks for sharing; that will help a lot with troubleshooting your issue!
It sounds like you may have created an IP conflict. When you set a static IP, it could match another device on your network. After switching back to dynamic, you need to renew your DHCP settings to get a new IP address. You can usually do this through your device's network settings or by running a command in the command prompt.
What are the steps to renew the DHCP? Is it the same for every device?
Generally, yes! You just need to access the network settings for each device and look for 'Renew IP.' But it might differ a bit based on the device operating system.

I changed the external IP of my router, thinking it would help with setting up a Minecraft server, but now I'm not sure if I messed up.
