I've been using the beta version of iOS 26 on my iPhone 13 Pro Max, but I recently ran out of storage, which caused some glitches as I switched between apps. Now, my phone is in recovery mode, and the diagnostics say the update is the issue. I'm having trouble recovering it through Finder, and I'm worried about wasting my time at the Apple Store on Monday if they can't help me. Does anyone have experience with recovery? Can the Apple Store actually fix a corrupted device, or am I better off trying to handle this myself?

Honestly, if you're on a beta version, the Apple Store might not be your best bet. They usually don’t support beta software! You could try forcing a downgrade instead. Just download the .ipsw file for an earlier version, like iOS 18, and plug your iPhone into your Mac. Hold the Shift key while clicking on the restore button in Finder and select the .ipsw file. That might get you back up and running!
Just restore it and see if that helps! Although I get that you're hoping to recover your files instead of just restoring the phone. But at least it could fix the glitch you're having!
Yeah, definitely not what I'm looking for. I want to recover my files, not just do a simple restore.

This is super helpful! I really didn’t want to go in only to hear they can't do anything. Thanks for the tip!
