Help! My iPhone 14 Pro Max Died After Snorkeling – Any Tips?

I'm feeling really down right now. I went snorkeling on Monday with my iPhone 14 Pro Max in a waterproof case, but unfortunately, my phone became unresponsive afterwards. I thought everything was fine until the screen started turning green and then went completely black. I can hear notifications and some emergency functions work, but the display is dead. I rushed to the Apple store, but the technician wasn't very hopeful. I've got an appointment with a genius today, but I'm looking for any advice on what to do. It's been two years since my last backup, and I'm scared I might lose everything!

Hey, it’s a tough situation for sure. First off, make sure to start backing up your phone regularly from now on. It should be a top priority when you get a new device! As for your current issue, since the phone got wet, it’s critical to get it professionally checked out. If there’s any liquid damage, Apple is likely to just replace it. Fingers crossed for you!

Could you give us more details about the problem? What exactly is happening with the phone? If the screen went black after the snorkeling, it sounds like it might have suffered water damage. You’ll want to take it to a pro for a thorough check and possible data recovery.

I appreciate the concern! After snorkeling, my screen flickered green for a while, then it went black. I can hear notifications, but there’s nothing on the screen. I’m so anxious about my data!
