I've been having some serious issues with my iPhone 16 Plus. It used to be hit or miss with recognizing my face, but now it completely refuses to recognize me, whether I'm wearing my glasses or not. This week, I developed an eye condition that requires me to wear glasses, and while before the latest update, it did occasionally work, now not at all! I've tried everything, from taking my glasses off to adjusting my gaze, and nothing seems to help. Plus, I can't even reset Face ID because I'm totally locked out. Is there any hope for fixing this?

Have you thought about visiting an Apple Store? They might be able to help you troubleshoot the issue or at least offer some solutions. It sounds like a frustrating situation!
I suggest you keep trying different angles and maybe disable Face ID if you can get it to recognize you at all. You could also use a pin or pattern for now. I know it’s a pain since your bank needs Face ID though!
I have a pin, but my bank requires the Face ID.
Before you do anything else, try restarting your iPhone. It sometimes works wonders. Just hold down the Power and Volume buttons, slide to power off, and when it’s off, hold the Power button until the Apple logo shows up. If that doesn’t help, visiting an Apple Store might be your best bet for further assistance.
Thanks, I can try but I do legitimately look different in a way I can’t fully fix until I am cleared to wear contacts again. It’s always given me issues with my uncorrected gaze.

I won’t be able to fit that into my schedule until next week, but I’ll keep it in mind if it’s still an issue after I can use my contacts again.
