I accidentally put my iPhone 6s Plus (running iOS 15) in my pocket, and while it was in there, I entered the wrong passcode too many times. Now, my phone is on security lockout with no timer, which is really frustrating. I don't have a backup on iCloud and I'm worried about losing important memories from high school that are on my device. I can remember my passcode and iCloud password, and I have access to my phone number and Gmail. I also have a laptop I could use—is there anything I can do to unlock my phone without losing my data?

Unfortunately, once you're in security lockout mode, it can be tough to regain access without losing your data. Apple emphasizes the need for backups for situations like this. If you can access your laptop, you might try using iTunes or Finder to restore the device, but that will erase everything. Your best bet is to see if any third-party software can help recover your phone without a factory reset, but results may vary. Good luck!
It’s frustrating, I know. You really should have consistent backups or set up iCloud properly. Just keep in mind, when dealing with account security locks, losing your data can be the unfortunate outcome. Maybe try reaching out to Apple Support for additional options—they might have some insights for you!

I appreciate the advice! I just feel so stuck without my data. I'll look into contacting support.
