I'm dealing with a frustrating keyboard issue where it completely freezes up for about 5 seconds. During this time, any input gets held until the lag ends, and then it tries to catch up by spamming all the inputs I made in those seconds. It's noticeable when typing but not so much in gaming since the rapid repeat doesn't impact the gameplay as much. I've gone through a lot of troubleshooting steps: I've switched USB ports, reinstalled drivers, ran an SFC scan, updated Windows, reinstalled the OS, and even upgraded from Windows 10 to 11. I've also tried a different keyboard and started Windows in safe mode with minimal applications. Nothing has worked so far, and it's getting really frustrating—I'm at my wit's end!

Wow, it sounds like you've done quite a bit of troubleshooting! Since you’ve already replaced the keyboard and reinstalled drivers, I’d suggest checking if the issue persists in safe mode, as it could help identify if software is causing the problem. If everything looks good there, then it might be related to your motherboard's chipset or BIOS. Upgrading the BIOS and reinstalling the chipset drivers could potentially resolve it. It's worth giving that a shot!
Definitely check the BIOS/UEFI updates! Also, make sure your keyboard isn't wireless because that could also cause lag. If it's wired, focus on those chipset drivers.
