Hey everyone, my laptop was stolen but I managed to get it back. I locked it using my Microsoft Account from my phone, but now when I try to boot it up, the screen just says it's locked by an administrator. The sign-in button is missing, and all I see is this message about needing an administrator to sign in, along with options for 'Forgot my password' (which doesn't work), and the power and Wi-Fi buttons. I've tried safe mode, rebooting, and even messing around in BIOS, but nothing seems to help. My mom uses this laptop for work, so I really don't want to reset it and lose her important documents. Any ideas?

You might want to attempt pressing Ctrl+Alt+Del at the login screen. Some users have found it helps to access additional options or screens.
It sounds like you might have hit the limit for login attempts on that Microsoft account. The lock could be asking for you to log into your Microsoft account from a different device to unlock it. You could also try resetting your password using a different device if that’s an option.
Have you tried checking your Microsoft account to see if there's an option to unlock it? Sometimes you can manage locked devices from there.
Yeah, I looked there but it didn’t show anything about unlocking.
I tried that too, but it didn't work.
