I was messing with the BIOS battery settings on my Dell Vostro 3520 while dual-booting Windows 11 and Linux Mint 22.1. After a restart, instead of seeing the boot selection screen, I encountered several error messages that stated: "unexpected return from initial read: volume corrupt, buffersize 400" and "failed to load image: volume corrupt." Now my laptop keeps booting in a loop, turning off and then restarting without letting me access anything. I've tried BIOS recovery and making a backup of my files, but I couldn't back up the drivers. I've almost given up on recovering my data, but I just want to know if there's any way to get my laptop working again.

It sounds frustrating! BIOS changes can sometimes mess things up. First, head into the BIOS and check the boot configuration. If you can get a screenshot of that page and share it here, it might help us figure out what's going wrong. Also, check if your hard drive is being recognized properly there.
Here's a link to the boot configuration I captured: https://preview.redd.it/owshdzprc40f1.png?width=1212&format=png&auto=webp&s=cc2b3b14be91e04bbb8050251fc8de22a45c0fe8. Let me know if that helps!
