I recently got a new HP Victus 15 fb3000 and decided to play Resident Evil 2. Everything started fine, but after a few minutes, the laptop's fans became really loud, and then it just shut down. Now it won't turn back on at all! I bought this laptop while traveling in the US and contacted HP support, but they said the warranty can't be validated in my home country. I'm really concerned that it might be a motherboard issue. Any advice? By the way, this laptop has a Ryzen 7 and an RTX 4050.

Sounds like your laptop might be overheating. When fans get loud, it's usually a sign that it's working hard to cool things down. Did you run any performance tests to make sure it can handle games like Resident Evil 2? Those specs are solid, but cooling is key. If it can't manage heat properly, it could shut down to prevent damage.
Ugh, that sucks! I've pushed my lower-end laptop to its limits with demanding games and never had it shut down. Generally, they shut off to cool down if they overheat, and can be restarted later. But if yours won't turn back on after cooling off, it might be a hardware issue. Consider checking with a local technician for a closer look.
Yeah, I tried turning it back on after waiting for a few hours, but no luck. Definitely sounds like a hardware issue! Thanks for the insight!
Sorry to hear about your trouble! You might want to try something simple first, like disabling the lid sensor. I had a similar issue and found that helped. You can find tutorials on YouTube where other HP users had the same problem. Is your laptop shutting down completely, or going to sleep mode?

No, I didn't do any tests beforehand. I assumed it could handle the game!
