Help! My laptop won’t boot and the keyboard isn’t responding

I'm having a strange issue with my HP Omen laptop (model 16-xf0033dx). It was working perfectly fine while connected to two external monitors until suddenly, all screens went black. The fans were still running, and eventually, one external monitor showed up at the Windows lock screen. However, when I tried to type my password on the laptop's keyboard, it wouldn't respond. I used a USB mouse to click into the password box instead, but typing was still impossible. Afterward, I had to shut down using the power button on the lock screen, but now my laptop won't turn on at all, even when I try using the power button. I've attempted to use an external keyboard too, but that hasn't worked either. Any advice?

First, disconnect all external monitors from your laptop. Try performing a power cycle: unplug the charger, and if it's accessible, remove the internal battery. If you can’t remove the battery, just press the power button for about a minute. After that, plug the charger back in and see if it powers on.

I disconnected everything. The battery is not easy to access in this model, so I couldn't remove it. I held the power button for over a minute, but nothing happened. I let it sit for another minute and tried turning it on again, but it still won’t power up. I know there was charge in the battery during the issue; I always keep it plugged in.

Have you been able to check if your keyboard works in the BIOS? If it does, try starting your laptop without any external devices connected, including monitors, USB devices, and the like. If the keyboard doesn’t work in BIOS, try unplugging it, disconnecting the battery if you can, waiting a minute, then reconnecting everything and powering it on.

I can’t even get into the BIOS right now since the laptop won’t boot at all.

This sounds like a hardware failure, most likely with the motherboard. You might need to take it in for repairs or seek professional help if basic troubleshooting doesn’t work.
