Help! My Laptop Won’t Turn On After RAM Upgrade

Hey everyone, I just swapped out the RAM sticks on my sister's laptop, which seemed pretty straightforward. I disconnected the battery before starting and reconnected it afterward. Once I put everything back together and hit the power button, it didn't start and instead made a strange noise along with a burning smell. I'm really worried! Could this mean the battery is dead, or is there a chance that the motherboard is toast too? I think I might've heard a static shock while disconnecting the battery, but I'm not certain. Any insights would really help!

Yikes! That burning smell is definitely not a good sign. If the laptop is making weird noises, it might be indicating a serious issue. It’s possible that replacing the battery could help, but if the motherboard’s affected, that won't solve the problem. You might want to open it up again and check for any visible damage.

I feel for you—this can be frustrating! If you heard a static shock, that could be a clue something went wrong while you were working on it. It's not just the battery; your motherboard could be in trouble too. I’d suggest getting a pro to look at it to prevent more damage.
