Help! My Mac Mini is Stuck on a Black Screen During Startup

I recently purchased a 2014 Mac Mini from a friend and installed Windows 10 using Boot Camp. However, I'm running into a problem where the screen goes black during startup. I've read that resetting the graphics drivers might help, but it seems like it's a bit of a gamble—sometimes it works if my keyboard lights up during the boot process, but other times I have to restart the Mac multiple times until the lights come on. Is there a permanent fix for this issue? I'd really appreciate any help!

A black screen on a Mac Mini often points to a GPU problem. First, try resetting the SMC. You can do this by unplugging the power for about 15 seconds and then plugging it back in. I did this on my M1 recently after a crash, and it solved my black screen issue. If that doesn’t work, consider booting into recovery mode and running diagnostics to see if it highlights any problems.

To boot into recovery mode, you need to restart your Mac and hold down Command (⌘) + R right after you hear the startup sound. Keep holding it until you see the Apple logo or a spinning globe. Once in recovery mode, you can access the Disk Utility or run any diagnostics available. This process should help pinpoint if there’s a specific issue with your setup.
