Help! My MacBook Air M2 Needs a New Logic Board – Alternatives to Apple’s Repair Cost?

I have a MacBook Air M2 that I bought in October 2022, and recently it just stopped working. It's stuck in a restart loop, and the restore option didn't help when I went to the Apple store. Now, they're telling me it's going to cost 630€ to repair. I'm wondering if there's anything I can try before agreeing to this hefty fee? Has anyone else experienced something similar? I don't believe it got wet or anything.

Yeah, without AppleCare, you’re probably looking at that price tag. Just make sure to check if there are any authorized repair shops around, sometimes they can offer services for less than the Apple store!

Just a heads up, the storage in M-series Macs is all integrated into the chip, so it can’t be replaced separately like traditional hard drives. If the restore option at the store failed, it likely means they’ll need to replace the logic board to fix it. If you had AppleCare+ or were under warranty, that’d be covered, but since you're out of warranty, it seems like you’ll have to pay for the repair.

I get that, but is there any chance I could buy the logic board somewhere else for cheaper? Like, is there a third-party option?
