I've been struggling to get my monitor's sound device to appear, and it seems like nothing I've tried has worked. I've deleted the Generic PnP Monitor from Device Manager and rebooted, but that didn't help. I've also removed audio devices under Sound, Video, and Game controllers, as well as under Audio inputs and outputs. After rebooting, they all came back except for my monitor's sound device. I've even reinstalled my GPU drivers and tried unplugging and replugging the monitor, but still no luck. Any suggestions?

It sounds like the issue might be with the HDMI signal, as monitors usually require a specific driver for audio rather than just the basic Windows ones. I’d recommend checking the manufacturer's website for the right drivers, as that could potentially solve the sound device issue.
Just a heads up, the monitor driver is mainly for things like refresh rates and color profiles, not the HDMI audio. Make sure you check for the HD Audio Driver from your graphics card. Look for something like "display audio" under sound/video/game controllers. Also, ensure you delete any hidden devices too, as they could be causing conflicts. Naturally, reboot after deleting and then reinstall the display driver. Also, double-check that your monitor actually supports HDMI audio!
