Hey everyone! I'm facing a pretty frustrating situation with my PC. I've been building systems for years, but I recently switched from Intel to AMD with the following setup:
- **CPU**: AMD Ryzen 9 5900X 12-Core
- **GPU**: GeForce RTX 3080 OC Edition
- **Motherboard**: ATX Gigabyte X570 Aorus Master
- **RAM**: G.SKILL Trident Z Neo RGB 32GB DDR4-3600MHz
Lately, my PC has been freezing whenever it's idle, leading to forced restarts. Sometimes it even freezes before reaching the OS. I took it to a repair shop, and they think it's the motherboard. I'm in a tight spot as I can't afford a new PC, so I'm looking for cost-effective solutions.
I've considered buying a second-hand motherboard but I'm worried about its reliability. The shop suggested a complete upgrade for around 1000 euros, which I can't manage. Should I risk a used board from the last few years, make the leap to a new Intel setup, or stick with AMD? Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated!

I’d recommend getting a replacement motherboard. Since your setup was working fine until now, it’s likely just the mobo that’s the problem. Try to find a second-hand board from a reputable seller, but make sure to check reviews and ask about its condition. It might save you some hassle!
Thanks for your advice! The issue is that I’m having a tough time finding a suitable replacement motherboard. I've read that the 5900X requires specific boards, and I’m hesitant to invest in something that might not work out.
