Hey everyone! I'm really in need of some tech support here. I was trying to update my Mullvad VPN client, and it didn't go smoothly. The installer wouldn't finish updating because the client was still open, so I made a mistake and ended the task in Task Manager. This caused the installer to shut down as well, and it seems to have removed the old version without installing the new one. Now, I'm stuck. Lockdown Mode was enabled when that happened, and I currently have no internet access, not even in Safe Mode with Networking. Windows troubleshooter says 'No DHCP server was found.' I've tried restarting the network adapter and using the installer, but it needs an internet connection to verify itself. Can anyone explain what Lockdown Mode does and if there's a way to disable it through the Registry Editor or something? I'm really lost here and would love to get back online. Thanks a bunch!

I don't know much about Mullvad, but if I were you, I'd download the latest installer using another device, like your phone. Just copy that over to your PC via USB and try running it to reinstall or update the software. If that doesn't work, check your network connections for any installed tunneling adapters that most VPNs create. You might find more specific advice on the SuperUser forum about how to fix this issue! Good luck!
