I recently bought a used KFA2 3080 Ti and installed it today. I followed the steps to download the drivers and used DDU to remove the old RX 7600 drivers. However, whenever I try to do something a bit demanding, like joining a Minecraft world, the GPU fans ramp up to around 2300 RPM and the system crashes to a black screen. I've already tried reinstalling the drivers, re-seating the GPU, and even replaced the CMOS battery, but nothing seems to work. My power supply is a Corsair CX750. I've been troubleshooting this for about 5 hours, and I really need some help!

Even if dried thermal paste isn't a solid reason to return it, you can easily find a PC repair shop to repaste it for you. Also, check if the VRAM and VRM need new thermal pads; that could be a quick fix if overheating is the culprit. If it works after that, you're all set!
It sounds like your graphics card might need to be repasted. If the seller didn't disclose any overheating issues, you might want to consider returning it. Overheating can lead to crashes like what you're experiencing.
Check the temperature of your GPU when it crashes. There's a chance it was previously used for mining and now has thermal issues. If the temp soars to 90°C as soon as you start the game, that's definitely a red flag.
If it’s indeed overheating, you might want to weigh the cost of repasting versus just getting a different card.
Yikes, if it's hitting those temps, I'd be concerned too!

True, but if that doesn't fix the problem, then I'm out €300, which is a tough pill to swallow!
