Hey everyone! I just upgraded from a 3060 Ti to a 5070 Ti, and I'm running into some issues. My current setup can be found here: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/KV8c3w. The GPU lights up and the fans are spinning, but it's not showing up in Device Manager. When I try to install the NVIDIA drivers, I get an error saying "no NVIDIA GPU is detected." Here's what I've tried so far:
- Uninstalling previous drivers using DDU in safe mode.
- Reseating the GPU to ensure it's securely in place.
- Booting the system on its side to rule out connection issues.
- Testing my old GPU to confirm that the PCI-e slot works, which it does.
I'm worried it might be due to my power supply being 650W when NVIDIA recommends at least 750W. The GPU requires a connection that uses 3 VGA cables, but I only have 2 connected right now. Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance 🙂

Sounds like your power supply is a likely culprit. A 750W PSU is recommended for that GPU to ensure it has enough power. I’d suggest upgrading your PSU to at least a B or A tier gold level to avoid any issues.
Honestly, it's impressive that the system even powered on with a 650W PSU!
Also, make sure you’ve got a GPU support setup. It can get costly if your GPU sags over time. Just a friendly reminder!
I think the GPU came with a support rail. I’ll be sure to reinstall my bottom fans for better support. Thanks!

Thanks for the fast reply! Is there a quick way to test if the GPU would work with a stronger PSU? Should I stick with be quiet! for the new one, or are there better options?
