Help! My New CPU Isn’t Recognizing My Display

Hey everyone! I'm trying to troubleshoot an issue with my new CPU. I've just upgraded from an i3-8100 to an i7-9700K, but my computer isn't recognizing the display anymore. Everything seems to be installed correctly, and my PC is running fine otherwise. When I switch back to my old CPU, the display works perfectly, so I know the installation is correct. I have a pretty old build (about 9 years), and while everything I've checked suggests that the socket is compatible, I'm still having trouble. I'm also planning to install a new GPU (upgrading from a GTX 1050 to an RTX 3060), but I can't get past the CPU recognition issue first. I've updated my BIOS to the latest version as well. Here's a rundown of my specs: Intel i3-8100 to i7-9700K, 32 GB of RAM, and an ASRock Z370 Killer SLI/ac motherboard. Any advice would be really helpful! Thanks!

It sounds like there might be a confusion with the display outputs. Are you using a GPU for display? If so, make sure you're connected to the GPU and not the onboard graphics. But it’s odd that the CPU isn’t recognized even with the same GPU. That does sound like a compatibility issue.

Have you checked your power supply? The i7 requires more power than the i3, especially with that new RTX 3060. Try running a power supply calculator online to see if your 600W supply can handle everything you're trying to run.
