I'm putting together a new PC for my boss and got everything set up except the GPU. When I tried to power it on, absolutely nothing happened. I went through all the power connections and double-checked the front panel connectors, but there were no lights, no fans, nothing at all. I even tried a different PSU, which is a brand new one from my brother-in-law, but still no success. I thought maybe the power button could be faulty, so I attempted to short the power pins, but that didn't work either. I've reseated the RAM and tested each stick in all slots. Honestly, I've exhausted all the troubleshooting steps I know, except for possibly getting a new motherboard. I'm feeling pretty lost here! Any suggestions or advice would be greatly appreciated! It sounds like your motherboard might be the issue since the new PSU didn’t show any signs of powering up. That’s usually a sign something's wrong with the board itself.
Have you confirmed if the BIOS is updated for the 9000 series? That’s a common thing to check. Also, since you’ve tried shorting the power pins and still got no response, it’s definitely worth considering that the motherboard could be faulty.
From what I’ve read about that motherboard, there’s been a recent update that should support the 9000 series. If it’s not updated, it might be something you can do easily. But I get that you tried shorting the power pins and didn’t have any luck.
Yeah, I kind of had a feeling it might be the motherboard. It’s really unfortunate if that’s the case.
