Help! My New PC is Acting Up – Need Advice

Hey folks, I'm reaching out because I'm in a bit of a jam with my new PC build. Here are the specs: I've got a Gigabyte B650M D3HP AX motherboard, a Ryzen 5 7600X CPU, a Zotac RTX 4070 Super Twin Edge GPU, 32GB of Corsair Vengeance DDR5 RAM, a 1TB Lexar NM790 NVMe SSD, a 4TB Seagate Barracuda HDD, a Thermalright Phantom Spirit SE 120 cooler, and a Super Flower Leadex 850W Gold PSU all packed in a Montech Air 100 case with Arctic MX6 thermal paste. My friend helped me build this PC less than a year ago, and it's been giving me grief since day one. I've noticed that navigating the BIOS is laggy, the PC freezes during startup quite often, and there are periods when my USB devices just won't connect. Just the other day, I experienced a BSOD while gaming through Bluestacks, which led to a forced restart, and afterward, the PC was still unresponsive, despite being powered on. I've tried reseating the RAM, doing a CMOS reset, and monitoring the temperatures, but I'm still stuck. I'm starting to think it might be a motherboard issue or possibly the PSU. Has anyone dealt with similar issues on a build like mine? Any insights or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Have you thought about running your system with just one stick of RAM? Sometimes that helps to narrow down whether it's a memory issue. And yeah, it’s probably best to make sure Windows is on the SSD and not the HDD. If you're still having problems, maybe consider downgrading the RAM speed to see if that fixes things?

I actually tried that a while back, but it didn't help with the freezing. I verified that Windows is indeed installed on the SSD, and my RAM was running at default speeds—though I think it shifted between 2400 and 4800MHz.

Make sure you follow the bot's suggestion and provide those dump files for more detailed analysis. It’s strange that your system won’t POST, but all lights are on. It might help pinpoint any underlying issues. Stay persistent, and you’ll get to the bottom of it!

Thanks for the tip! The issue is that my PC isn't even managing to POST right now—the USB devices aren't being detected at all. The fans and lights are working, but nothing else is happening.

First off, it sounds like a frustrating situation! One thing to try is to dig into those dump files when you can manage to boot into Windows or Safe Mode. They're invaluable for diagnosing BSODs. You can find them at C:WindowsMinidump. If you have them, zip them up and upload to a file sharing service. Multiple dumps would be ideal, so don’t hesitate to get that sorted!
