Help! My New PC Won’t Boot After a Reset

I think I might have messed up my new PC while playing a game! It froze for about 10 minutes, and I thought clicking the reset button would help. After hitting the reset, it just keeps showing the MSi Click BIOS 5 tab. I tried to go back to default options, but it got stuck on 'fixing c stage 1.' I found some advice online about changing UEFI to CSM, so I did that. However, the instructions mentioned changing the settings to Legacy CSM, but all I see is Legacy UEFI. I went ahead and tried it anyway, but now the PC says there's an error and asks to restart. After that, my monitor stays blank, and I can't see anything. I'm not super tech-savvy, and I'm worried I broke it. Can someone help me out?

Honestly, while it's great to fix things yourself, there comes a point where it’s smart to seek help. You've been trying different fixes from various sources, and unless you really feel comfortable, it might be better to take it to a pro to avoid bricking your motherboard.

First things first, check if your boot options actually list an SSD to boot from. If the PC is pretty new, like under a month, it should still be under warranty, but I get that you don’t want to go that route right away.

Yeah, it's not even a month old. I do have warranties, but I'm hoping to sort this out myself first.

It sounds like you might've dropped the boot partition, which is why it's booting into BIOS. Try resetting all your settings back to default; there’s usually no need to fiddle with those options if it was working before. You may need to reinstall Windows if that doesn't help.

Have you tried clearing the CMOS or removing the CMOS battery to reset the settings? That might do the trick and help you boot normally again!

If there's nothing really important on your drive, consider switching to non-legacy UEFI and prepare to reinstall Windows. Sometimes, if the SSD gets stuck, it could indicate something's wrong with it. Just be sure to check if the activity light was on while you were resetting it. Keep in mind that switching between UEFI and CSM can prevent your OS from booting, so make sure they match the original installation.
